Transportation

Transportation to and from Camp Varsity is the responsibility of the Camper. Directions can be found here!

cabins + camp life

Campers live in single gender cabins according to age. Cabins are rustic wooden structures (no a/c) with screen windows lined with wooden or metal bunkbeds. Every cabin has electricity. Most of our cabins fit up to 16 campers with 4-6 counselors who live on the counselor porch of each cabin. Three cabins which sleep our oldest campers have larger capacities. Your camper activities during the day will be done with their cabin mates under complete supervision. Occasionally, cabin groups are combined for larger activities.

Restrooms and showers are in a central location at the Camp Lodge.

Bunk Requests

Making new friends is a key part of the Camp experience! We understand that campers often want to be in the same cabin with their friends. When we assign your camper’s cabin, we consider ONE bunk request. We do not accept large friend group requests. Due to many factors such as cabin space and number of applicants, your bunkmate request is not guaranteed. Requests should be made on your camper’s application.

Remember:

  • Request ONE camper only. If you request multiple, we will pick the first one listed.

  • Cabin assignments are made according to your camper’s age. We understand there may need to be exceptions to this policy such as maturity level. If this is true for your camper, please inform us as soon as possible so we can ensure more appropriate cabin assignments.

  • We cannot guarantee any placement in any specific cabin or for your camper to be with a specific counselor.

Thank you for being patient, kind and understanding! There are many moving parts to cabin assignments; sometimes we may be unable to accommodate your request and sometimes we make mistakes. We do our very best to honor your camper’s request!

COMMUNICATION: KEEPING IN TOUCH

If at any time you have any questions or concerns, if you are wondering how your child is adjusting to Camp or how they are interacting with other campers/counselors, please contact us. We are happy to update you! We do however, discourage unnecessary calls either incoming or outgoing on the Camp phone line because of the interruption to the schedule. It is important that the phone line is kept open for emergencies.

In any case of emergency, you will be notified immediately. In the event that the primary contact is not available, we will then reach out to your secondary/backup contact person. In the event of an emergency at home and you need to contact your Camper, please call the camp phone line and we will locate your Camper immediately.

We do not allow campers to have or use cell phones or any other electronic device with wi-fi compatibility at Camp. You can read more about this in under "Camp Policies”. We ask that all camper families support this policy and make certain that your Camper leaves these items at home. Any phones (or devices) that are brought to Camp will be collected and kept in a safe and secure location in the Staff Office until your Camper is ready to head home.

Emails

Campers do not have access to email or the internet while on the mountain. Please do not send emails to your Camper at our Camp email address. Should you need to pass information regarding scheduling changes, pickups, etc. please call us or email the Camp Directors at info@campvarsity.net and we will coordinate and communicate that to your Camper and to his/her counselors.

CAMPER MAIL

Campers LOVE writing, sending and receiving letters the “old school” way!

Pre-addressing and pre-stamping the envelopes ahead of Camp makes this easy and fun. Packing stationary, some pens, along with envelopes in a ziplock bag is also helpful to keep your Campers “letters-to-home kit” safe and dry.

CAMP PHOTOS

We love making special memories at Camp and we know how important it is for many families to stay connected with their child at Camp. As an outdoor based, low-tech Camp, we are focused on creating meaningful moments for our campers: being present and in the moment is a top priority for fun and safety. We do our best to capture highlights throughout the week to share with you and strive to post on Instagram and Facebook a few times each week. Thank you for understanding that we simply are unable to take individual photo requests of each camper throughout their week at Camp.
