PACKING TIPS FOR CAMPERS

  • Have your camper help pack using the list below (also available in a printable!)

  • Review our Camp Attire Policy below.

  • Pack enough clothes to last the entire week: we recommend packing for 10 days.

  • CAMP IS SCREEN FREE: this includes cell Phones, Kindles, Smart Watches, Video game consoles or handheld devices, Ipads, tablets or other electronic devices with Wi-Fi capabilities

  • Majority of our time at Camp is spent outdoors and there is a chance your camper may loose or misplace their items; do not send precious clothing or items

  • Mark ALL items with your campers first and last name

  • Please read about our medication policies here. All medications must be in original package, labeled with: camper’s first and last name, dosing and prescribing physician’s information and instructions. Any medications brought to Camp must be turned into the Camp Nurse along with a completed/signed by physician Medication Authorization Form.

  • Trunks, totes, bags, and most all gear can be slid under bunks inside your Campers cabin. The space under each bunk is 15 inches.

Campers staying for consecutive weeks:

  • Laundry is provided for your camper and is included in your camper’s tuition

  • We take our laundry off-site each week and this is typically done toward the end of the week.

CAMP ATTIRE

We ask that all campers, volunteers, and staff bring only camp safe, camp appropriate, athletic style clothing. Clothing may not display any offensive language/messages, drug or alcohol related graphics.

Shirts, shorts and pants must:

  • Provide appropriate coverage. Please keep crop-tops, tube tops, halter tops, deep cut tanks and tanks/shirts with loose straps at home.

  • Cover undergarments

Swimsuits: must be athletic style with full rear coverage; comfortable without risk of getting snagged, slippage or falling off. Leave swimsuits with dangling loose straps, strings, rear exposure, deep cuts or high-hip cuts at home.

In instances where the appropriateness of certain clothing is in question, we will ask campers to change. We expect parents to help us by making sure campers pack appropriately.

did your camper forget something?

We keep extra towels, pillows, blankets and sleeping bags "just in case". Extra toiletries are also kept throughout the summer: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, disposable hygiene products, soap, bug spray, hand sanitizer, and sun screen. We want to make sure you Camper has everything they need to have a great week, so please let us know if anything was forgotten!

Camp Varsity is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items that are brought to Camp. Lost and Found items are collected multiple times each day and displayed to campers throughout the week. Any remaining Lost and Found items will also be set out during Pick-Up Day for campers and their caretakers to retrieve. Camp Varsity will make every attempt to items to Campers during and after their camp week. Camper families are responsible for any shipping costs of returned camper items via mail. Lost and Found items left at Camp are donated to a local charity after Labor Day.
